For those of you free-wheeling and flexible writers out there, this may not be so last-minute. For me, February 24th feels like it’s tomorrow!
I had the good fortune to receive a critique of part of my novel from Laurie Calkhoven at last year’s NJ-SCBWI Summer Conference. Laurie’s insights and advice were thoughtful and very helpful, and her encouragement inspired me to sit down, get busy, and finish a solid draft. Many authors recommend using meditative exercises in order to delve deeper into your story, so this is great chance to learn how to use meditation or to practice your skills. Here’s hoping I can see my way to attending her latest workshop:
Using Meditation for Writers and Illustrators
Laurie Calkhoven will take you through a guided meditation, followed by free writing and/or sketching sessions, which will help you build a richer, deeper connection to your stories and your characters. Whether you’re brainstorming new ideas, searching for the heart of your story, trying to conjure up a scene, working on a revision or your portfolio, or just getting to know your characters, meditation can help.
