Yesterday was sunny
I didn’t even wear a scarf.
Today is grey skies
with snow falling like sprinkles
on the dark hard cupcake of the ground.
A flash of something bright catches my eye
as I walk quickly along the sidewalk.
I look up.
Branches loaded with blossoms
Confused by the topsy-turvy weather?
Just clumps of snow
Huddled against the few dry leaves clinging
Desperately to the tips of those branches.
No lamb yet.
Winter’s lion is still roaring,
if only for today.
